WABASH – Two well-known performers, each in their own artistic volition, will take the stage at The Honeywell Center Ford Theater on two separate dates, according to a press release from the theater.
On Aug. 16 at 7:30 p.m., Mi Tunes 101.9 and 105.9 The Bash welcome humorist Jeanne Robertson. The former Miss North Carolina, Robertson captivates audiences with her stories of friends, family and everyday situations with a hilarious twist, the release states.
Whether regaling audiences with her experiences as a 6'2" Miss Congeniality winner in the Miss America Pageant or with stories of life with her husband, “Left Brain,” the press release states that she delivers clean comedy with class that will keep audiences laughing.
Sponsorship for the performance is provided by Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service. Tickets are $18, $25 and $35.
On Aug. 17 at 3 p.m., jazz pianist Dick Hyman will present “Songs by Hoagy Carmichael.” The legendary jazz musician has excelled as a pianist, organist, arranger, conductor and composer, according to the release.
In addition to recording over 100 albums, Hyman also served as composer, arranger and pianist for several Woody Allen films including “Bullets Over Broadway” and “Mighty Aphrodite.” Other film scores include “Moonstruck” and “Billy Bathgate.”

Amongst Hyman’s many music-related accomplishments, he was recently featured in the New York Times regarding his 30-year involvement with the annual Jazz in July concert series that Hyman founded in 1985. Jazz in July, which takes place at the 92nd Street Y in New York City, features other seasoned jazz pianist as well as newcomers to the genre that entertain jazz-lovers over a two-week stretch. This event was born from not only Hyman’s love of jazz, but to showcase jazz, honoring the composers, the songs and the artists.
