Tippecanoe Audubon Society will be planting the first round of plugs Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Flory-Gemmer Marsh.
Round two will take place in the fall of 2014. The group will be planting more than 2,000 plugs in the next couple of months and needs the community’s help.
E-mail beth@lakelandnursery.com or call 260- 839-4315 and she will notify everyone interested in helping out.
The group will grill hot dogs for everyone, but would encourage people to bring a side to share with the group.
There will also be a few bulb planters available — these are back-savers, People may also bring a hand trowel, if they wish. Most importantly, bring  boots, bug spray and muscles.
Directions are online at tippeaudubon.org under the nature preserves tab.
