Cub Scout Packs of Kosciusko District held their final Pinewood Derby at the end of February with Lincoln School Pack 3767 hosting the event. Kosciusko and Whitley counties have now been combined into one district known as the Western District. Trophies were awarded to the top four places: Tiger Cubs – Brandon Fox, Ryan Cultice, Coltin Brumfield, Logan Neher; Wolf Cubs – Ben Alspaugh, Louis Gervais, Braxton Barnes, Aaron Fryback; Bear Cubs – Ryan Kreft, Jonathan Bollenbacher, Peyton Zellers, Austin Brumfield; Webelos – Christopher Fox, Andrew Anker, Chris Lackey, Dylan Delgado. Keith Lafountain, Scott Fox and Dave Hurt improved the 65-foot computerized track with new electronics; the race went smoothly.

Over 500 wrestlers are expected to converge on Warsaw Community High School March 18 to participate in the Warsaw Wrestling Club’s second annual AAU free-style tournament. Warsaw state finalists to wrestle are Nate Conley, Danny Moon, Troy Lutes, Ritchie Hernandez, Mike Davis, Bob Taylor and Aaron Bruce. Expected to show top performances are Chris Patrick, Joel Holder, Eric York, Geoff Patrick, Ryan Hernandez, Sean Patrick, Travis Hancock, Brody Shively, Cale Shively, Mike Venable and Matt Koontz. Officers of the club are Dennis Holder, president; Mike Patrick, treasurer and tournament chairman; Jan York, publicity chairman; Karen Patrick, district representative; Sam Davis, referees; Mrs. Davis, pairings; Bobbie Holder, table help; Dan Hatch and Sue Bruce, concessions.

Dr. Richard G. Loudermilk, Fort Wayne, will take over the medical practice of Dr. John L. Hillery who plans to continue his home in Warsaw. Dr. Hillery will spend several weeks with Dr. Loudermilk until he becomes established. Dr. Loudermilk, his wife and 3-1/2-year-old daughter, Diane, are living at 311 W. Center St.
Billy Penn, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Penn, Silver Lake, is a leap-year baby. He was born Feb. 29, 1952. He is a sixth-grader at Silver Lake School and has been working on requirements for joining the Scout troop.
AirmanThird Class Sam E. Meade, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Meade, Claypool, and Sidney High School graduate is assigned to the 97th Bombardment Wing at Blytheville Air Force Base, Ark.

Friends gathered at the Swallow Cafe, Goshen, to celebrate the 40th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. W.M. Wilt, Syracuse. Wilt operates the Wilt Factory which produces cedar chests and novelties, employing 165 workers.
A special program on Kiwanis education was held at the Hotel Hays Thursday afternoon celebrating the 24th year of International Kiwanis. Robert Whiteneck entertained with two violin solos.
Three Warsaw grads are freshmen at Marion College this year. They are Winifred Ragan, Winona Lake; Jane Plew and Maxine Leedy, Warsaw. Jane and Maxine are members of the Amphictyon Literacy Society and Girls Hiking Club.
