Singles Meeting Friends
A beautiful summer evening brought a large group of singles to the Warsaw Hacienda for dinner.
Edie presided over the meeting, thanking Charlene for opening her home Saturday for her retirement party. Over two dozen people showed up for an evening of food, corn hole, food, euchre and more food. If you went home hungry, that was your own fault.
Everyone told where they are from: Rochester, Warsaw, Winona Lake, Chapman Lake, Pierceton, Sawmill Lake, Milford and Claypool. Edie told several humorous stories as well as reading a poem titled “When I'm An Old Lady.” She also read an article written by Jeff Foxworthy about a country founded by geniuses but run by idiots.
Tom spoke about two of his grandsons playing on the rugby team. They won the Indiana State Tournament Division 2, as well as the Midwest tournament. They moved on to play on the Indiana select team that played in Pittsburgh earlier this summer. They finished second in the East Coast Tournament. Tom has good reason to be proud of his grandsons.
First Friday Game Night has been moved to the second Friday of every month. Bring a friend and bring a game to join in on an evening of fun and friendship.
Coming up July 18 at Center Park is Jodee Messina playing country. It is also the start of the Elkhart County Fair. Judy has discounted tickets if anyone is interested. Contact her soon, as her tickets are going fast.
Marlo Thomas was quoted as saying “There are two kinds of people in the world: the givers and the takers. The takers may eat better, but the givers sleep better.”
Feel free to join in on the fun of the Singles Meeting Friends any Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in the Warsaw Hacienda Fiesta Room. Share great friends, great food and lots of laughs.
