2 Local Veterans Honored
Two veterans – who also are very familiar faces in the community – were singled out with special awards Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017, during Lakeview and Edgewood Middle Schools’ Veterans Day program. U.S. Marine and Air Force veteran David A. Morales was presented with the Meritorious Service Award by John Sadler, Sons of American Legion Squadron 49; and Navy veteran Roy C. “Rev” Blake received the Order of Kosciuszko from Ken Locke, Salvation Army Community Ministries Director and a US. Army veteran. Retired Army Sgt. 1st Jordan Mayfield helped present the plaques. Locke also was the key speaker at the program, which is featured first in this video.
Kyle Dukes launches Sheriff campaign
Kyle Dukes, a 17-year trooper with the Indiana State Police, kicked off his campaign Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2017, to be the next sheriff of Kosciusko County. With an introduction and closing by Dr. Jennifer Lucht, this is the speech Dukes gave at his campaign launch.
